Great question. The ideal word count really depend on the goal of the content. I’ll give you a good example.
For one of the websites I manage, we get thousands of clicks per month on a blog post that is about 6-senteces long. That’s because it very succinctly answers a specific question and is now the featured snippet for that search term.
On the other hand, we also have long-form 1500-3000 word articles that are performing really well for organic traffic.
The point is, article length should depend on the goal of the article. If it’s a complicated topic then well over 1000 words is recommended.
