I also agree to this statement by Pulkit. The problem is, there is so much rampant corruption that our blood boils looking at it. Even for getting shop establishment or VAT we have to pay under the table many times. You might say that it is not required. But let us all agree that India is not “Business friendly”. We small businessmen are treated as cash cows as if we are going to be pissing money. But no one catches the shops dealing exclusively in cash, or the people not declaring their income.
I am completely ready for even 48% tax provided
- Everyone is paying tax (including politicians, religious institutions and such politically strong institutions. many small businesses, restaurants, transport services arent and no one catches them. No checking, nothing as long as business officials are paid under the table for some amount")
- There is complete transparency on where our money is going.
- I know that in the long run i will be benefitted.
I have shifted the topic from GST to corruption. But i truly agree, at the bottomline level, all of us dont want to pay tax because we know that money is going down the drain. But off course, being white collared individuals, we dont have an alternative
P.S - I also think Adsense will not come under GST. But i believe there will be GST on affiliate marketing because service tax was also there after certain earnings. Just like real estate guys get commission by selling someone else’s product and they have to pay service tax, gst will sooner or later come on affiliate marketing. If not this year, then next.
